Ash & Bramble: Pin, who was captured by the Godmother’s footmen, had been a seamstress. She had lived in the conditions of the Godmother’s fortress and now she wants out. Shoe has been a shoemaker for the Godmother as long as he could remember. He hasn’t thought of breaking out of the fortress until Pin came along. Escaping the fortress took its toll on both Pin and Shoe. Pin is now a game piece in a much bigger board. She has to follow the fate of Story, and now it seems that there is no way out. But now the tale is told and it is time for it to end.

Review: I just love retellings of famous fairy tales and this has to be one of the best! I just loved how the author made the Godmother, a beloved character, into this story’s antagonist. This story is just so charming and sweet that it doesn’t need a Disney happily ever after. I loved Pin, she is just so fearless and resilient that no matter what happened she stayed the same. This book was truly amazing, 5 stars!
